About Organization : At NavSahyog Foundation, our focus is entirely rural. Our overarching objective is rural prosperity. Rural prosperity depends on the availability of superior livelihoods within villages. The youth in the villages are growing up with a major handicap of lack of well developed Life Skills. Because of the lack of well developed Life Skills the youths are not able to leverage the vast opportunities available in the villages for creating superior Livelihood. As per research, Life Skills when developed during the most impressionable age (5 to 14 years), can become life long habits. Any other time if we develop life skills, they cause a temporary shift and then people fall back to their old habits. Thus at NavShyog Foundation, we focus on developing life skills and creativity in village children aged 5 to 14 years, so they grow up as confident, resilient, and responsible youth, creating superior livelihoods for themselves and others. We believe this lays the foundation for sustainable rural prosperity. By life skills we mean Self Esteem, Teaming, Empathy, Discipline, Perseverence, Resilience, Responsibility, Comradery, Confidence, Communication, etc. Vision: A world where children in villages pursue their dreams and create superior livelihoods for themselves and others. Mission: To impact 100,000 children with life skills and enable superior livelihood opportunities for 3,000 youth in villages by 2030. Our program aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes holistic development, enhancing creativity and providing experiential learning for children. The NavSahyog program serves as a potential pathway for implementing NEP 2020 in government schools in villages. As per the Education Ministry nearly 70% of all school going children in India are in villages. NavSahyog’s core program is designed to develop life skills and creativity among rural children aged 5–14, daily through: Traditional Indian Sports (Yoga, kho-kho, kabaddi, running, long jump, high jump, skipping, etc) Traditional Indian board games to develop their mental skills & teach them strategy to think ahead. Storytelling to build values, communication, and imagination. Creative activities such as drawing,craft using locally available materials like clay, leaves, petals & stones. Experiential Learning: Here we teach children experientially about environment & climate change. Here we teach them about love for nature & value of water. The two programs for this are: Prakriti Prem (Love for Nature): children learn responsibility, collaboration and environmental awareness Jal Vriddhi (Value of Water): children understand water conservation and the issue of depleting groundwater Dhan Kaushal (Financial Literacy): Globally, financial literacy is recognised as a critical Life Skill that needs to be developed during childhood. Dhan Kaushal is an entirely activity based experiential learning program that introduces children & youth to the concepts of earning, saving, spending and growing money. It uses role plays, games & budgeting exercises to make learning practical and enjoyable. Children actively practice financial decision-making, building early habits that help them understand and manage money responsibly in real-life situations. Impact: NavSahyog is currently present in 355 villages across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Nagaland, engaging 10,000+ children daily. The program has also empowered hundreds of rural women as Village Coordinators (VCs), creating local leadership and ownership within communities. In the area of financial literacy specifically, NavSahyog has directly impacted 15,000+ children through the “Dhan Kaushal” program. Through collaborations with partners such as MASS NGO, an additional 2,000+ children have been reached. With a recently signed MoU with ‘Sree Siddaganga Math’, the program is set to expand to 10,000+ more children of Math. We continue to actively seek partnerships to further scale this initiative. We have signed two MoU’s with the Education Departments of Govt. of Karnataka and Govt. of Tamil Nadu. These allow us to conduct Life Skills programs in the village schools during school hours, daily. There have been two independent 3rd Party Impact Studies done on NavSahyog's Core Program of life skills development.
